About Jairo de la Nuez
Hello! I am a Spanish businessman and IT consultant from Barcelona, planning to spend 9–12 months in Ireland, starting around January 2027.
I am married and have two adult children, including a daughter who lives in Dublin. I own a technology consulting company, which allows me to work remotely with a flexible schedule.
One of my lifelong ambitions has been to live in an English-speaking country, improve my English and experience another culture through everyday life.
I am financially independent and could comfortably rent my own apartment. However, I am deliberately choosing a homestay because I do not want to live alone. What I am really looking for is genuine human interaction: conversations, shared meals, laughter and everyday moments together.
I would describe myself as friendly, empathetic, honest, reliable, respectful and open-minded. I am naturally curious and enjoy learning from other people's experiences and perspectives.
I love conversations about history, science, literature, culture and life in general, but I equally enjoy simple everyday chats and having a good laugh.
Cooking is one of my greatest passions. I particularly enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, including paella, fideuà, Spanish omelettes, fish, meat and homemade dishes. I would be delighted to cook and share meals with my host.
I also lead an active lifestyle and enjoy hiking, walking, running, cycling, tennis and spending time outdoors.
Ideally, I would love to share a home with a mature or older Irish person who is independent, sociable, curious about life and genuinely enjoys companionship.
I am not simply looking for a room to rent. I hope to develop a warm, natural relationship based on mutual respect, trust and shared experiences, perhaps even a genuine friendship over time.
I would happily contribute by cooking, shopping, helping with technology and doing light household tasks. I am tidy, considerate and respectful of personal space and individual routines.
I work remotely, so reliable internet is important. I would generally spend mornings at home and go out in the afternoons for volunteering, exercise and social activities, returning in the evenings.
I would normally visit my wife in Barcelona one weekend per month. My daughter lives in Dublin, so I can stay with her temporarily while finding the right homestay.
I am particularly interested in pleasant, well-connected areas of Dublin, as I will not have a car.
Above all, I am looking for a home where companionship is genuinely welcomed, not simply accommodation.
Thank you for reading my profile. I would be delighted to hear from someone who shares this idea of homestay.
